When to use a workstream

A workstream models ongoing responsibility. “Customer Success,” “Site Reliability,” and “Content Marketing” are all workstreams — they don't finish, they just keep going.

If a chunk of work inside a workstream has a real deadline, create an initiative inside it and link the tasks to both.

Fields

  • Status — active / paused / archived
  • Assignees — the team responsible

Workstreams intentionally don't have dates or a definition of done. If you find yourself wanting those, you probably want an initiative or a cycle instead.
